so i read a couple of kaveh/al-haitham/cyno/tighnari fanfics and im kinda disappointed bc everytime it involved them trying to make their crush (so kaveh > al-haitham and cyno > tighnari etc) jealous. i feel like the polycule could be used to explore the more discreet relationships, beyond the obvious couples. so allow me to rot in place bc i don't have the energy to write a fanfic rn

kaveh genuinely and unabashedly howling at cyno's jokes. cyno is delirious w love (we've seen how he acted with albedo) and immediately confesses. he doesn't even think about it tbh

tighnari and al-haitham bonding over being nerds. tighnari goes on and on about sumeru's flora & fungi, and al-haitham listens intently and chimes in from time to time. tighnari is sharp, so he knows when to stop and doesn't take it personally

kaveh being obsessed with tighnari's tail and ears. passed out drunk using the tail as his pillow. tighnari doesn't mind and likes petting his hair. he's also the first person kaveh turns to when he's upset

cyno and al-haitham being cautious around each other, but gradually warming up. al-haitham is a solid opponent in tcg, and cyno is more used to holding a position of "real" power in the akademiya so he helps al-haitham out. and when he's overwhelmed, cyno can take over. there isn't really romance between them, just mutual respect and a whole lot of tension <3

anyway yeah i don't really like the jealousy trope, but that's a personal opinion. i just feel like exploring their relationships is cool. i also like the "2 couples who fuck each other occasionally" tho
